Before writing, check if the answer is here:

• My Mac says it cannot verify the app: open System Settings › Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway.
• Captures come out black or empty: check that Sheenshot is on in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Screen Recording. Then quit and reopen the app.
• A shortcut doesn't work: another app may use the same combination. Change it in Sheenshot › Settings › Global shortcuts.
